Texas AgriLife Extension Service and the Cooperative Extension Program at the Waller County office family & consumer sciences (FCS) program areas strive to improve families’ lives to help improve Texas. Each class is limited to five families. Local Adult Leaders Honored
The Waller County Extension Office really does have great leaders. While we are privileged to work with many quality adult leaders, staff were excited to nominate two local leaders for the statewide Salute to Excellance Awards. Larry and Katherine Jones have been made aware by the state 4-H that they are to be awarded a state Salute to Excellance Award at the upcoming State 4-H RoundUp. Beef Cattle Short Course
Location: Texas A&M University, College Station Date: August 6th-8th 2012 Information: http://animalscience.tamu.edu/ansc/BCSC/index.html Each year more than 1,300 beef producers and enthusiasts attend the TAMU Beef Cattle Short Course to expand their knowledge of the beef cattle industry and join in the discussion of the most current issues facing the producer. This industry gathering features the popular Cattleman’s College, a general session with the nation’s leading beef cattle experts, seminars, workshops and hands-on demonstrations.
District 9 4-H RoundUp
Big Time in D9, will occur this Friday and Saturday, May 4 & 5th in Conroe, TX. Numerous contests will occur over the 2 day event and even a 4-H BBQ cookoff. Dont Mess with Waller County Trash Off 2012
Waller County patrons and residents are invited to work together on beautifying the streets of Waller County by picking up litter during the 2nd Annual Don’t Mess with Waller County Trash-Off. Businesses, churches, schools, civic groups, and individual volunteers are invited to participate by signing up their teams for the Trash-Off.
